What is a GARDEN ? And GARDENING?
The term Garden in British English refer to a small enclosed area of land, usually adjoining a building. Likewise there are various definitions or thoughts about a Garden and I'll say those are valid too;as it differs with the location, culture,purpose and with the person.
So as according to me, A Garden is a space or premises usually planned for amusement, enjoyment, recreation, decoration, education and/or cultivation for an individual or with commercial view of plants.
While Gardening is an act of creating, maintaining and preserving any type of garden with either of the purpose of individual, social or commercial one. There are various views on merits and demerits of gardening. it depends upon the type of garden one executes like; One may damage local plant species, damage domestic bio-life of the particular space by adopting different or adverse style, format and plants selections etc.
On the basis of use, purpose, plants used, patterns formed, designs gardens are named differently. few examples like Floriculture Parks or Flower Gardens, Vegetable Gardens, Kitchen Gardens, Succulents Garden, Japanese Chinese Garden, Mughal Garden, Zen Garden, Tea Garden, Bonsai Garden, Botanical Garden, Terrace and/or Balcony Garden, Rooftop Garden, Vertical Garden, Poly-house and /or Greenhouse Gardens and many more.
Now a days types of Gardens or Gardening have sky is the limit as many conceptual as well as commercial gardens are being very experimental and created with some unique view like educational, tourism, forestry gardens etc.
Garden and Gardening is the place and act of joyous living and recreation. A happiness is to earn out of gardening and staying in, seeing at, having it. Garden can be at anyone's place like at upper class or the poor ones of the society. But the real satisfaction of the garden lies in gardening.practicing it. And that's the real living.
One can have The Garden by spending money, but only The One can enjoy gardening who does it, who care it, who fall in love with it.
For me gardening is like Meditation. It takes me into me. i see life in seeding, coming out petiole, seeing leaf, buds, blooming. I see me in Gardening The Plants.

गार्डन म्हणजे काय? आणि गार्डनिंग?
ब्रिटिश इंग्रजीतील गार्डन हा शब्द जमिनीच्या छोट्या बंदिस्त भागाचा संदर्भ देतो, सहसा इमारतीच्या शेजारी. त्याचप्रमाणे गार्डनबद्दल विविध व्याख्या किंवा विचार आहेत आणि मी म्हणेन की ते देखील वैध आहेत; कारण ते स्थान, संस्कृती, हेतू आणि व्यक्तीसह भिन्न आहे.

बागकाम ही वैयक्तिक, सामाजिक किंवा व्यावसायिक हेतू असलेल्या कोणत्याही प्रकारच्या बागांची निर्मिती, देखभाल आणि जतन करण्याची कृती आहे. बागकामाचे गुण आणि तोटे यावर विविध मते आहेत. हे कोणत्या बागेच्या प्रकारावर चालते यावर अवलंबून असते; एखादी व्यक्ती स्थानिक वनस्पती प्रजातींचे नुकसान करू शकते, विशिष्ट किंवा प्रतिकूल शैली, स्वरूप आणि वनस्पतींची निवड इत्यादींचा अवलंब करून विशिष्ट जागेच्या घरगुती जैव जीवनास हानी पोहोचवू शकते.
वापर, उद्देश, वापरलेली झाडे, तयार केलेले नमुने, डिझाईन्स यांच्या आधारावर गार्डन्सला वेगवेगळी नावे दिली जातात. जसे फ्लोरिकल्चर पार्क किंवा फ्लॉवर गार्डन, व्हेजिटेबल गार्डन, किचन गार्डन, सकुलेंट्स गार्डन, जपानी चायनीज गार्डन, मुगल गार्डन, झेन गार्डन, टी गार्डन, बोन्साय गार्डन, बॉटनिकल गार्डन, टेरेस आणि/किंवा बाल्कनी गार्डन, रूफटॉप गार्डन, व्हर्टिकल गार्डन, पॉली-हाऊस आणि /किंवा ग्रीनहाऊस गार्डन्स आणि बरेच काही.
आजच्या बाग किंवा बागकामांना अगणित मर्यादा आहे कारण अनेक वैचारिक तसेच व्यावसायिक उद्याने अतिशय प्रायोगिक अशा विविध कल्पनाशक्ती आहेत आणि शैक्षणिक, पर्यटन, वनीकरण उद्याने इत्यादी काही अनोख्या दृश्यांसह तयार केल्या जात आहेत.
बाग आणि बागकाम हे आनंदी राहण्याचे आणि करमणुकीचे ठिकाण आणि कृती आहे. एक आनंद म्हणजे बागकाम करणे आणि त्यात राहणे, ते पाहणे, मिळवणे. बाग कोणाच्याही ठिकाणी असू शकते जसे उच्च वर्ग किंवा समाजातील गरीब. पण बागेचे खरे समाधान बागकाम आहे.त्याचा सराव करणे. आणि हेच खरे जगणे आहे.
पैसे खर्च करून एखाद्याला बाग मिळू शकते, परंतु बागकामाचा आनंद फक्त तोच घेऊ शकतो जो ते करतो, त्याची काळजी घेतो, जो त्याच्या प्रेमात पडतो.
माझ्यासाठी बागकाम हे ध्यानासारखे आहे. हे मला माझ्यामध्ये बघायला शिकवते. मी बियाणे, पेटीओल बाहेर येणे, पाने, कळ्या हयात बहरलेले जीवन पाहतो. मी बागकाममध्ये स्वत:हला पाहतो.
